The Department of Economic Resources and Environment (ESL) Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University visited Darussalam University (UNIDA) Gontor, Ponorogo, East Java (1/12). The visit discussed the follow-up to plans for cooperation in community service, research, Real Work Lectures (KKN) and joint publications.

During this visit, the IPB University group was received by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Cooperation, Dr Khoirul Umam, MEc. He conveyed the need for joint research between UNIDA and the ESL Department of IPB University.
“Of course the university is very supportive and supports what will be done according to the shared vision and mission,” he said.

The Head of the ESL Department of IPB University, Dr. Ahyar Ismail, proposed several possible collaborations.
“In the future, hopefully we can establish cooperation with UNIDA Gontor in the fields of service, research, community service and publications,” he said.

Secretary of the ESL Department, Dr Meti Ekayani, SHut, MSc added that food waste and environmental pollution can be a topic of research collaboration. “The collaboration between the ESL Department and FEM UNIDA can cover food waste, namely food waste and environmental pollution, halal tourism as well as behavioral economics and a circular economy, sustainable economic development,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eka Intan Kumala Putri, Head of the Environmental Economics Division of the ESL Department of IPB University conveyed the theme of the study that could be carried out in the Ponorogo area. One of them is optimizing community forests to support community resilience. (Ang/Zul)
