ESL FEM – Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL), FEM IPB University conducted a Jumsih (Clean Friday) activity to succeed the IPB Green Campus program, Friday (2/28/2020).

This activity was led directly by the Head of the ESL Department, Dr. Ahyar Ismail and Secretary of the Institute of IPB University, Dr. Aceng Hidayat.

In his statement, Aceng Hidayat hoped that the Jumsih activities participated by the staff and educators in the ESL environment, the ESES REESA Professional Association and the internship students could run continuously.

Hopefully the activities including cleaning grasses in the ESL park, maintaining plants, planting fruit trees and making biopore holes can be participated by all Departments at IPB.

In this Jumsih activity, the grass that is cleaned in the park will be used as compost in biopore holes.

“In the future, the remnants of organic waste in the campus environment such as food and fruit waste will be put in a biopori hole that has been made,” added Aceng.

“The compost will be used to fertilize plants around the campus. this is a circular economic practice, “he said.
