Department of Resource and Environmental Economics
Established on January 10, 2005, under Rector’s Decree No. IPB. 001/K13/PP/2005, the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL) is a key division within IPB University’s Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM). Its standing was further formalized by Rector’s Decree No. 112/K13/OT/2005 later that year.
The ESL Department focuses on the intersection of economics and social dynamics within agriculture, natural resources, and the environment. As a core part of FEM IPB, the department is dedicated to meeting the global demand for sustainable development. It strives to cultivate deeper awareness among government agencies, the public, and the private sector regarding the critical importance of environmental stewardship and resource sustainability.
