History of ESL

The Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL) was officially established on January 10, 2005, through IPB University Rector’s Decree No. 001/K13/PP/2005. Operating under the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), it is the first department in Indonesia mandated to advance the fields of agricultural, food, natural resource, and environmental economics.
The Department aims to develop exceptional human resources and pioneer scientific advancements in its core disciplines. It is committed to producing high-quality research and actively addressing challenges in agricultural and environmental development through the Tri-Dharma (Triple Mission) of higher education.
