To foster an adaptive, transformative, and sustainable organization, the Department of ESL has established a strategic direction outlined in its Integrated Strategic Plan. This document aligns the department’s programs and development strategies with the visions and missions of the Faculty and IPB University. The 2024–2028 Strategic Plan serves as the blueprint for the department’s educational activities, scientific advancement, and organizational governance over the next five years.
Development Milestones 2024–2028
The organizational strategy is geared toward transforming the department into a center of excellence that is adaptive and collaborative. This progression is structured into annual milestones that guide the department toward its long-term objectives:
Year 1 (2024): Improving Governance. The initial phase focuses on enhancing accountability and transparency. Accountability is strengthened through robust internal audit systems and periodic quality assurance in education. Transparency is achieved by developing open administrative and financial reporting mechanisms accessible to all departmental stakeholders.
Year 2 (2025): Resilient Human Resources and Excellent Services. This phase prioritizes the empowerment of academic and administrative staff alongside the delivery of service excellence. Faculty development is pursued through professional certifications and advanced training. Service quality is elevated by fostering a professional work culture and modernizing academic and student service systems (including SOPs and integrated databases).
Year 3 (2026): Adaptive Curriculum. Efforts focus on designing a curriculum that remains responsive to shifting internal and external dynamics. The curriculum will be refined to ensure relevance to the latest advancements in science and technology, specifically within the fields of agricultural, resource, and environmental economics.
Year 4 (2027): Collaborative Research. The department aims to expand research partnerships with domestic and international institutions. These collaborations are intended to generate significant social impact, broaden institutional networking, advance scientific knowledge, enhance faculty and student capacity, and increase the department’s publication output.
Year 5 (2028): A Prominent Department in Agricultural, Resource, and Environmental Economics. The final phase culminates in the realization of the department’s vision: becoming a leading national and international institution. This milestone is characterized by achieving “Excellent” (Unggul) national accreditation and prestigious international accreditation.
