Bogor – The Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL), Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, welcomed the on-site visitation team from Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS) as part of the international accreditation process for the Economics cluster, including the Resource and Environmental Economics (REE) Programme.

The on-site visitation represents a crucial stage in the international quality assurance process, aimed at evaluating academic standards, governance, curriculum design, learning outcomes, and the implementation of the internal quality assurance system within the department. During the visit, the AQAS expert panel conducted meetings and discussions with faculty leaders, department management, academic staff, administrative staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders.

In the presentation and dialogue sessions, the department highlighted its strong commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), research excellence in resource and environmental economics, and the expansion of international academic collaborations. The expert panel also reviewed teaching and learning facilities to ensure that academic operations align with international standards and best practices.

The Head of the Department emphasized that the visitation serves not only as part of the accreditation procedure but also as a strategic moment for institutional reflection and continuous improvement toward global standards. “We are committed to continuously enhancing the quality of education, research, and community engagement to ensure that REE graduates are competitive at both national and international levels,” he stated.

The visit was conducted in a constructive and collaborative atmosphere. Feedback and recommendations from the AQAS expert panel are expected to support ongoing improvements and strengthen the programme’s academic excellence and global competitiveness.

Through this process, the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, reaffirms its commitment to maintaining and advancing higher education quality in accordance with international standards while expanding its global academic network in the field of resource and environmental economics.
