ESL Department of FEM IPB University Holds 2025 Curriculum Workshop, Engages Alumni and Industry Stakeholders
Bogor, April 30, 2025 — The Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL), Faculty of Economics and Management, IPB University, held the 2025 Curriculum Workshop on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The event brought together alumni and representatives from the business sector, industry, and government institutions as part of a collaborative effort to develop a more relevant and adaptive curriculum that meets current and future demands.
In his opening remarks, the Head of the ESL Department, Dr. Adi, emphasized that this workshop is part of a series of activities aimed at revising the curriculum, which is scheduled to be implemented in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, starting in September 2025.
The workshop focused on in-depth discussions regarding the enhancement of the curriculum to ensure ESL-IPB graduates possess more practical and applicable competencies, especially in fields such as agriculture, environmental impact analysis, and data processing. In addition to technical skills, alumni and stakeholders also highlighted the importance of strengthening practical skills, soft skills, and lifelong learning to enable graduates to adapt to the dynamic job market.
Another key point addressed in the discussion was the integration of internship opportunities within the curriculum, as well as the need to better connect theoretical knowledge with real-world application. Feedback from alumni and users was highly appreciated and will serve as a critical input in finalizing the draft curriculum.
Dr. Adi also noted that the ESL Department has conducted three curriculum workshops so far, with this latest session serving as a crucial step toward finalization. The final curriculum draft will soon be submitted to IPB University for official approval.
Through this updated curriculum, ESL-IPB aims to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also well-prepared to compete and contribute meaningfully in the business sector, industry, and government institutions.
