Bogor, August 26, 2026 — The Department of Resources and Environmental Economics (ESL), Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB University welcomed a delegation from Universitas Khairun (Unkhair), particularly from its Master’s Program in Economics, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The visit provided an important opportunity to strengthen academic relations and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Dr. Adi Hadianto, Head of the ESL Department at IPB University, shared that Universitas Khairun is currently exploring the development and establishment of a Resources and Environmental Economics (ESL) Study Program. The discussion focused on several key aspects, including academic capacity building, curriculum development, and human resource readiness to support the establishment and implementation of the proposed program.

Dr. Adi Hadianto also emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity and expertise of human resources as part of the preparation process. One of the proposed follow-up initiatives is to provide opportunities for a number of lecturers and staff members from Universitas Khairun to pursue further education and deepen their expertise in Resources and Environmental Economics through relevant academic programs at IPB University.

The proposed initiative is expected to serve as an initial step toward establishing more concrete academic collaboration between the ESL Department of IPB University and Universitas Khairun. Following the visit, the Universitas Khairun delegation will report the outcomes of the discussion to the Rector of Universitas Khairun for further consideration and to determine potential follow-up actions and forms of collaboration.

The visit reflects the ESL Department’s commitment to expanding its academic network and sharing expertise in the development of higher education, particularly in the field of Resources and Environmental Economics. Moving forward, the collaboration is expected to extend beyond human resource development and study program development to include education, research, and other academic activities that provide mutual benefits for both institutions.
