ESL FEM IPB University Highlights Blue Finance in the 10th Lecture Series on Tropical Ocean Economics
Bogor, 28 May 2025 — The Tropical Ocean Economics Study Program, Department of Resource and Environmental Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB University, held the 10th session of its Lecture Series in Tropical Ocean Economics on Wednesday (May 28). The event, titled “Implementation of Blue Finance as a Funding Source for Sustainable Ocean Economic Development”, was conducted online via Zoom from 10:00 to 12:00 WIB.
The lecture was officially opened by Dr. Adi Hadianto, S.P., M.Si, Head of the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics, FEM IPB University. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that blue finance is not merely a trend but an urgent necessity in addressing the challenges of climate change and the growing pressure on marine resources.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kastana Saparni, S.Pi, M.Si, Head of the Tropical Ocean Economics Study Program, IPB University. He underscored the importance of designing integrative fiscal policies and marine-based financing mechanisms to support sustainable marine development.
The session also featured two main speakers: Dr. Liliek Sofitri, S.E., M.A., CertDA, from the Department of Fiscal Administration Science, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), who also serves as a Financial Integration Specialist for the RPJMN; and Didit Eko Prasetiyo, S.Pi., M.P., M.Sc, Acting Director of Water Column and Seabed Space Utilization, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
Dr. Liliek presented the concept and implementation mechanisms of blue finance, emphasizing the role of inclusive fiscal instruments aligned with national development goals. Meanwhile, Mr. Didit Eko Prasetiyo discussed the relationship between marine spatial planning and financing strategies that adhere to blue economy principles.
Through this lecture series, IPB University reaffirms its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas related to sustainable marine resource management and the promotion of a blue economy.
