From 14 to 16 July 2025, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, hosted the Faculty Immersion Programme, welcoming early-career faculty members from leading universities in Indonesia, including IPB University, which is part of the RI–SING University Network.

Over the course of two and a half days, participants were granted exclusive access to a wide range of academic and research activities, including laboratory visits, interactive workshops, expert lectures, and networking sessions with NTU researchers. Participants explored world-class research facilities such as the Microalgae Reactor Laboratory, FRESH Lab, and Tropical Ecology Laboratory, and gained insights into recent advancements in food security, agritech, alternative proteins, circular economy, and environmental sustainability.

The participation of IPB University faculty members and students in this programme not only expanded access to cutting-edge technologies and research developments, but also opened opportunities for long-term research collaboration in agriculture, joint curriculum development, and the potential establishment of double degree programmes in environmental and natural resource economics. The programme further enabled opportunities for guest lectures by NTU experts and encouraged cross-country research synergies aimed at improving rice-based food systems.

IPB University’s active participation in the NTU Faculty Immersion Programme is expected to accelerate knowledge exchange, strengthen international academic partnerships, and generate concrete solutions to food security and environmental challenges at the national, regional, and global levels.
