IPB University Students Build Bottle Gardens as an Effort to Implement Circular Economy in Cibanteng Village

Students of the Department of Natural Resources Economy and Environment (ESL) IPB University together with residents built a bottle garden in the neighborhood of Kebon Kopi Village, Cibanteng, Bogor (28/11). This development was carried out to optimize efforts to implement a circular economy in this village.

Willy Azis, an IPB University student from the Department of Natural Resources Economy and Environment (ESL) explained that the construction of this bottle garden is to facilitate residents who have limited land but have a hobby of gardening.

“We built this park with community self-help which hopefully can bring good benefits in the future. All residents can plant in this park, especially for those who like gardening but have limited land,” said Willy Azis, a student of IPB University.

Heni Wahyuni, who is also a student of IPB University, added, with the construction of this park, the community can maximize the use of land for vegetables so that family food security can be realized. He also explained that bottle garden ornaments are also made from unused plastic bottles which are an added value for this park.

“The activities are great, very creative in making gardens from bottles and of course useful. The use of varied colors makes it easy to see,” explained Ihsan, a resident of Kebon Kopi Village. (*) (IAAS/BLA)
