Collaboration of the ESL Department of IPB and PT. SMI, Created a Creative Corner in Pasarean Village, Bogor

Amid the new normal adjustments that are currently being applied in various regions of Indonesia, it has not reduced the spirit of service through a discussion process initiated by the ESL (Environmental Resource Economics) of the Bogor Agricultural University and PT SMI (Sarana Mitra Infrastruktur) on Monday (6/22). Like a tit for tat, the discussion gave birth to an appropriate idea, namely the construction of a Creative Corner in Pasarean Village. This was of course welcomed enthusiastically by the community, especially the mothers to make the Creative Corner as a container of creative value, of course a superior product, having economic value and being environmentally friendly.

Dr. Ir. Ahyar Ismail, M.Agr as the Chair of the ESL Department of IPB said that the Creative Corner is a form of enthusiastic response from the Pasarean village community, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency. The Creation Corner development plan will be carried out in the Pasarean Village office.

"Hopefully, with the Creation Corner built, the enthusiasm and creativity of users, especially the Pasarean community, should be high and become a model for other villages," Ahyar said.

In addition, PT SMI, represented by Eka Adhitya, also added, this collaboration is a form of corporate social calling to the community. "Even though the building is small, around 4 x 6 meters, we hope that mothers and environmental activists can use the Creative Corner as a forum for discussion, displaying processed products and others," said Adhit.

Creative Corner does not only function as a place of discussion, but will be facilitated by a workshop area that will be equipped with sewing machines for craft activists. In some corners there is also an administration room arranged living room and selfie room for visitors. "Surely this room can be used for selfies, to accommodate millennial visitors," Adhit explained.

The Head of Pasarean Village explained, currently there are mothers who use plastic waste to be processed into a product art creation, called PERKASA namely, Women Waste Management. PERKASA has become one of the movers and sources of inspiration for the people in Pasarean Village, because their expertise in producing processed waste products has a selling value and is ready to be marketed. So the concept of gogreen can be applied and will have an impact on the environmental health of the Pasarean community. (dimas)
